Room by Emma Donoghue Preview

Our first blog preview will be on Room by Emma Donoghue. This was a book that I read for my local book club and decided to share with my sister. It's very intriguing and different than your usual novel.

Room is written from the perspective of a 5 year old boy-- which is a unique style of writing for this type of book. Don't give up on it just because it's written differently, though. You will get use to it. It has to do with the captivity of him and his mother. As the story unravels, you will learn where and why they are being held captive; how they handle captivity; and hopefully, how they escape. This book has a wonderful strong bond between the 5 year old narrator and his mother. It also shows natural instincts mothers have to teach and nurture our children.

If you haven't read it, do so quickly before Thais and I reveal our after-thoughts on it next week.
